Lifecycle replacement of key electrical infrastructure
GroupMetropolitan were invited to competitively tender the main electrical infrastructure replacement project due to previous experience of similar projects. The project was fully designed prior to our engagement and consisted of replacing 8nr transformers and switch panels across 4 substations on the Museum's private 6.6kV network.
The project posed significant logistical challenges from the outset, with equipment procurement, delivery and installation all impacted by the global Covid pandemic. Initially we intended to use the closure of the museum during the pandemic to deliver and install the new equipment, but this quickly altered when the museum became a vaccination centre.
