About the role:
Group Metropolitan are looking for a multiskilled construction operative to support the growth of the department.
Monday to Friday 07:00 – 16:00 is the normal working day however, these hours will be flexible in line with needs of the project which you will be working on.
Group Metropolitan undertake as much as 75% of their works outside of normal working hours and therefore, you are likely to be asked to work over a weekend or possibly nightshifts.
Based between various Site locations and our Metropolitan offices
Ideal Candidate
- Someone who has either completed an NVQ L2 in a relevant trade or working in the construction industry as an apprentice already but looking to train and be developed as a multi skilled tradesman
- Good and effective communicator generally
- An understanding of H&S and where applicable demonstrates good practice on site
- Someone who wants to progress and be part of a team, learn and develop
- Keen eye for detail and someone who takes pride in their work and achieving a quality finish
- Ideally would hold a driving licence to make tool and material distribution easier
- Has a good set of hand and battery tools
- Someone who can use Apps / basic PC skills
Responsibilities
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Report daily to Lead tradesman / Supervisor
- Liaising with other tradesmen and supporting where needed
- Once trained and developed the candidate should be able to carry out the following tasks
- Site protection
- Setting out with Lazer measure
- Ceiling tiles and grid installation
- Plasterboard tracks and soffit installation
- Drywall stud partitions installation
- Undertake carpet works
- Filing and decoration
- Firestopping
- Glazed partition installation
- Cleaning of surfaces
