About The Role:
The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of mechanical systems on construction or maintenance projects. The role ensures that all mechanical works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with UK regulations and project specifications

Hours: 7am - 4pm
Location: Site Based.
Salary: DOE
Generally, the above hours will be flexible in line with the needs of the business. We operate a fair working policy but if any extended overtime is worked by agreement of you line manager, then overtime payment will be applicable
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in mechanical installation or building services.
- Experience supervising mechanical teams on construction projects.
- Experience working on large commercial developments in the UK
- NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
- CSCS card (Supervisor level).
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) preferred.
- Knowledge of UK building regulations and mechanical installation standards
Responsibilities
- Supervise mechanical installation works on site including HVAC, pipework, ductwork, and plant installations.
- Coordinate daily activities of mechanical engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and labour.
- Ensure works are completed according to project drawings, specifications, and programme schedules.
- Monitor quality of installations and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Monitor daily and weekly work progress against the project schedule.
- Identify potential delays and implement mitigation measures.
- Prepare progress reports for project management.
- Ensure mechanical materials, plant, and equipment are available when required.
- Manage site deliveries and storage of mechanical equipment.
- Monitor labour resources and subcontractor performance
- Assist with system testing and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with commissioning engineers and consultants.
- Ensure documentation, manuals, and certifications are completed.
- Support final project handover to the client.
- Liaise with project managers, site managers, engineers, and other trades.
- Coordinate mechanical works with electrical, civil, and structural teams.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Assist with planning and sequencing of work
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with UK health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inspections.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and safe working practices.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
