About the role

 The role of a mechanical fitter at Group Metropolitan Ltd holds significant importance, as it comes with a well-defined set of duties aimed at ensuring a high standard of work.
 
Type of contract: - Permanent 

Department: - Mechanical   

Hours:  7am – 4pm 

Location: Site Based  

Salary: - DOE 

Generally, the above hours will be flexible in line with the needs of the business. We operate a fair working policy but if any extended overtime is worked by agreement of you line manager, then overtime payment will be applicable

Requirements

Skills
  • Level 2 NVQ in relevant trade 
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends. 
  • A UK Driving Licence. 
  • Eligibility to work in the UK. 
  • An in-date ECS card. 

Responsibilities

Key Roles & Responsibilities  

  • Carry out the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. 
  • Read and interpret building drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics including highlighting any anomalies. 
  • Identify faults and be able to snag your own work. Carry out any remedial action to correct this. 
  • Carry out instal works in accordance with the current regulations. 
  • Identify any potential risks. 
  • Report any recommendations to your supervisor. 
  • Be able to work effectively as part of a team in a turn-key project. 
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills. 
  • Timely completion of internal training. 
  • Positive attitude towards work. 
  • Branded uniform and PPE to be worn on all GML and client sites. 
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism including punctuality and reliability.
